About Darlene DeCrane
Darlene is originally from Ohio where she earned a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and a M.A. Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Bowling Green State University. Her professional career includes eighteen years as a classroom teacher and twelve years as an elementary principal. She was recognized as both a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar and a nominee for State Teacher of the Year in Ohio. In 2003, after retirement, Darlene relocated to the beaches of North Carolina. The creation of this, Darlene's first children's book, has been a family effort and a positive outcome of the Coronavirus of 2020.
About Collin Snyder
Collin was a senior at Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, Ohio when he illustrated the original series. He was a varsity soccer player, a youth soccer referee, and a member of the National Honor Society. During the Coronavirus Pandemic, he was one of our heroes, working part time in a neighborhood grocery store. Sketching was one of his hobbies as a child, and illustrating these books allowed him to revisit that early interest. He is now a first-year college student.
